Article I – General Provisions
These General Terms and Conditions (GTC) govern participation in events organised by the AdvenTour Civic Association. The Association operates in accordance with its statutes and Slovak Act No. 83/1990 Coll. on the Association of Citizens.
These GTC apply to both free and paid events organised by the Association and do not automatically apply to services provided by other organisers. Mandatory legal provisions and special legislation take precedence.
Article II – Types of Events
The Association organises hiking, sports, recreational, educational, cultural and environmental activities, children's camps, residential programmes, sightseeing events and international projects. The specific programme and conditions are published for each event.
Article III – Registration
Applications are submitted through an online form on the website. The information provided must be accurate and up to date. For minors, an application must be submitted by a legal guardian or their demonstrable consent must be obtained.
Submitting a form does not in itself guarantee acceptance. Participation is confirmed by the organiser once the conditions announced in advance have been met. The organiser may set capacity limits, age requirements and reasonable safety requirements.
Registration becomes binding and participation is confirmed only when the organiser sends an email confirming the participant's place. Submission of the form alone does not guarantee participation before this confirmation.
Article IV – Participation Fees and Payments
Events may be free of charge or subject to a participation fee. The amount, included services, additional costs, payment method and due date will be communicated in advance.
If payment is not made by the specified deadline, the organiser may cancel the reservation after giving notice, provided this condition was clearly communicated in advance.
Article V – Cancellation by the Participant
Cancellation must be reported to ozadventour@gmail.com, stating the participant's name and the event name. For paid events, cancellation terms communicated in advance apply.
Standard cancellation schedule: more than 30 days before the event, a 100% refund; 30–15 days, a 75% refund; 14–8 days, a 50% refund; 7–3 days, a 25% refund; less than 3 days or failure to attend without notice, no automatic entitlement to a refund under this schedule.
These percentages are not prescribed by law. They apply only to the extent permitted by law and must not be disproportionate; participants retain their statutory rights. Requests arising from exceptional circumstances may be considered individually. Where the law grants a right of withdrawal or other refund rights, those rights take precedence.
A replacement participant may be accepted if the nature of the event and project rules allow it. Refunds are generally made within 14 days of settlement, unless the law provides otherwise.
Article VI – Changes or Cancellation by the Organiser
The organiser may change or cancel an event for safety reasons or serious organisational reasons and will inform participants without undue delay.
If the organiser cancels a paid event, the participation fee paid will be refunded in full unless the participant voluntarily agrees to another lawful arrangement. Material changes to services are governed by the applicable legislation.
Article VII – Rights and Obligations of Participants
Participants have the right to clear information about the programme, price and conditions. They must follow safety instructions and respect other participants, nature and property.
Serious breaches of the rules may result in proportionate exclusion from an activity. Liability for damage is governed by law; these GTC do not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Article VIII – Minor Participants
For events without parents present, demonstrable consent from a legal guardian is required. The organiser provides appropriate supervision during the period for which it is responsible.
The legal guardian must provide necessary contact and safety information. Arrangements for handing over and collecting children, handling emergencies and travel abroad will be specified for each event.
Article IX – Safety and Health
Hiking and sporting activities involve inherent risks. The organiser takes reasonable safety precautions; participants must follow instructions and use required equipment.
In the event of an injury, the organiser will provide appropriate assistance and call emergency services if necessary. The organiser's statutory liability remains unaffected.
The organiser does not automatically provide participants with individual accident, travel or other personal insurance as part of an event. Each participant, or the legal guardian of a minor, is responsible for obtaining suitable insurance at their own expense according to the nature of the event, unless expressly stated otherwise for a particular event. This does not affect the organiser's statutory liability.
Article X – Transport, Accommodation and Meals
The scope of transport, accommodation and meals is specified for each event. Special requirements must be communicated in advance.
Where a combination of services meets the definition of a package or linked travel arrangement, Slovak Act No. 170/2018 Coll. and the required specific documentation apply. The organiser's non-profit legal form does not in itself mean that an exemption automatically applies.
For events that meet all statutory conditions for an exemption under Act No. 170/2018 Coll., the relevant special package travel rules do not apply. Eligibility for an exemption is assessed separately for each event; where its conditions are not met, the applicable legal provisions must be followed.
Article XI – Photographs and Videos
Events may be documented through photographs and audiovisual recordings in compliance with applicable law. Details are provided in the separate Personal Data Protection Policy.
Where consent is required for promotional use, it is obtained separately and voluntarily; refusing optional promotional use does not in itself prevent participation.
Article XII – Complaints and Claims
Complaints and claims may be sent to ozadventour@gmail.com or to the registered office. Please provide your name, the event, a description of the issue and the requested resolution.
The organiser will assess and handle complaints in accordance with applicable law. Where a consumer relationship exists, consumer protection rights, including any applicable alternative dispute resolution rights, remain unaffected.
Article XIII – Personal Data Protection
Personal data is processed in accordance with the separate Personal Data Protection Policy published at www.oz-adventour.sk.
Article XIV – Special Project Conditions
Grant-funded and international projects may have additional conditions. These must be available before registration becomes binding. Participants' statutory rights cannot be circumvented by contractual terms.
Article XV – Final Provisions
The current GTC are published at www.oz-adventour.sk. Amendments do not apply retroactively to existing contracts without a legal basis or agreement.
